Supervises and directs the work activities of one or more departments of the Clinical Laboratory. Schedules work assignments, maintains equipment and supplies inventory, trains and orients new personnel, evaluates and recommends new instrumentation, and assures that procedures and policies are followed as outlined in the Personnel Handbook, CHC Manual, and Lab Policy & Procedure Manuals
Qualifications:
Must be licensed by the State of California as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
BA or BS degree as required by California Law.
A minimum of 5 years experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist
Extensive Mircobiology expereince
Ability to communicate well with other departments as well as laboratory personnel.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple projects/tasks.
Ability to work independently.
An understanding of both the theoretical and technical aspects of those procedures under his/her supervision.
PC computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets.
Knowledge of State and Federal regulations as well as JCAHO and CAP requirements.
Ability to learn new skills and concepts quickly.
Must be able to read, speak, and understand English.
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to work with a high interruption level.
Must be able to grasp abstract concepts.
