Need Parsons is seeking an experienced transportation Construction Manager/Resident Engineer to support road and highway projects in the Inland Empire (Ontario), California. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing contractor and subcontractor performance to assure that deliverables meet road and highway construction specifications and are built using approved engineering/construction technology, standards, and materials. Specifically, responsibilities will include maintaining first-level quality assurance, supervising the construction engineering team and providing technical expertise during the projects. This includes establishing a professional liaison with the roadway design engineering staff and construction inspectors as well as reviewing discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work. Keys to success will be applying previous experience on difficult and complex road and highway construction engineering assignments to safely execute all tasks associated with the project. Willingness to relocate to the construction location is expected.
Qualifications:
15 years of combined construction management and engineering experience on complex road and highway projects, with the majority of the experience in California
Comprehensive knowledge of transportation engineering and construction-related processes, as well as industry practices
Track record of leading construction management / engineering transportation teams
Established and respected working relationship with California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)
4-year degree in engineering or construction-related field
Registered California PE
