Industrial Engineer
This position is responsible for the planning, development and execution of all assigned DC engineering and cost reduction projects. The Process Improvement Project Engineering Manager has the task of looking for every opportunity to simplify all DC processes, by taking inefficiencies and related costs out of current processes and applying engineering design support and Lean methodology identified improvement opportunities. Additional responsibilities include partnering with Network Strategy, DC Operations, and Training to provide cross functional project support. As process change ideas are implemented, the Project Manager will also be responsible for creating process documentation and control with DC Operations and Training
Requirements:
- Four-year degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent field, MBA preferred.
Six or more years of related experience; discount retail distribution operations preferred.
Ability to manage a team of Industrial Engineers.
Lean experience in a DC setting, Black Belt level preferred.
Strong operations knowledge of distribution and related processes preferred.
The ability to effectively communicate and interact at many organizational levels including non-exempt associates, operations supervisors, and high-level management.
Working knowledge of time study, work measurement methods, engineering economy, material handling design and warehouse management systems.
The ability to think in terms of process flow and identification of component operations and interrelationships.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and technical writing skills.
Experience in using PCs in a professional setting – developing and using standard applications such as spreadsheets, databases, and word processors as typical tools to execute.
Must have ability to lead cross-functional teams to drive value added change. The cross-functional teams would include DC Operations, IT, Engineering, Finance, Transportation and Merchant Solutions teams.
Travel between 25-50% of the time in support of leading change across the DC network.
