Operations Manager-Electric Operations /Planning/Construction Management
The Manager is responsible for directing, managing, supervising, and coordinating the activities and operations of the Electric Operations and Planning Division for utility services. This position is a management-level role requiring strategic thinking and planning skills to coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies and to provide highly responsible and complex administrative support.
Responsibilities:
-> The incumbent will work closely with the Director and other management teams in an environment of routinely sensitive and confidential issues
-> Must have the ability to achieve and initiate policy objectives, including accountability for confidentiality of information
-> Accountable for assuming management responsibility for assigned services and activities of the Electric Operations and Planning Division
-> Plans, directs, coordinates, and reviews the Long Term Capital and O&M work plan for electric operations and engineering staff; assign work activities, projects, and programs; review and evaluates work products, methods, and procedures; meets with staff to identify and resolves problems
-> Oversees and participates in the development and administration of the division?s annual budget; participates in the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitors and approves expenditures; implement adjustments
Requirements:
-> Must be skilled in the ability to be accountable, answer questions, compile supporting data, and find immediate solutions as needed to facilitate a dynamic and high performance team and organization.
-> Minimum qualifications include a degree in an engineering, business or technical discipline with major course work in electrical engineering, construction management, business or a related field
-> Eight years of increasingly responsible electric systems operation and planning experience including four years of administrative and supervisory experience
-> Prior experience in union negotiations is preferred
