Reliability Engineer Job Function: Maintenance City, State: Ontario, CA Pay Type: Exempt Position Number: 12/20 FullTime/PartTime: Full Time Job Description: Supports the Maintenance and Engineering departments in leading initiatives to reduce product cost and drive overall plant SIS efficiency. Leverages a technical engineering background to tackle both chronic and sporadic losses across all areas of the facility through optimized designs and improved processes, identified via analysis of downtime and evaluation of overall effectiveness.
Analyze existing operating methods and develop new methods to improve cost and quality of the product.
Lead Kaizen events focusing on process improvements and changeover reduction / SMED (same minute exchange of dies).
Troubleshoot general manufacturing issues on the production lines. Help generate corrective and preventive actions utilizing cross departmental personnel.
Participate in UMI team meetings. Identify and work with Enginering manager to implement utility savings projects. Conceive and conduct efficiency improvement and cost reduction projects.
Support reduced R&M spending by working in conjunction with the EAM Planners to optimize preventive maintenance schedules based upon failure analysis and Informance data.
Manage and lead improvement projects as assigned by the Maintenance or Engineering Manager.
Attend daily production SIS meetings. Use data to isolate areas for continuous improvement and Root Cause Analysis activities.
Prepare written and oral reports for distribution to all levels of the organizations. Generate and maintain maintenance equipment change management documentation to record changes in machine specification from any completed projects carried out. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience. Experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing related activities in a consumer product environment, preferably in the food products industry or equivalent school coursework.
